Sitting on the border of Texas and Mexico, McAllen arts community flourishes with Mexican influence heavy on architecture, cuisine, music, and language. Many events celebrate the bicultural influence, including the autumn festival “Starry Nights Art & Entertainment” where artists sell their work and local musicians and dancers participate in live performances.
The International Museum of Art and Science, a dynamic family learning center that provides significant cultural and educational resources, also features Mexican arts and crafts, and local artists get a chance to show their work.
